Scientific Society of Legal Protection of Cultural Goods functioning at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the Jagiellonian University in Cracow in cooperation with Institute of the Heritage Protection Law invites Polish and foreign participants to take part in the 6th Scientific Conference of the series „Legal forms of monument protection and monument care”, which this year will be focused on subject: „Segments of cultural heritage – between the protection of tangible and intangible heritage”
The subjects of the conference will be this year related to broadly understood topics of cultural heritage protection taking into account an interdisciplinary approach. We plan thematic panels as follow:
I. Family cultural heritage – dilemmas of theory and practice;
II. Management of cultural heritage in contemporary society;
III. Local government for cultural heritage;
IV. Challenges of monument protection law;
V. International and European Union aspects of cultural heritage protection;
VI. Museology – history and present;
VII. Conservation – genesis, evolution, perspectives;
VIII. Trade in works of art;
IX. Issues of safety of cultural heritage designations.
The purpose of the conference is a presentation of interdisciplinary topics connected with cultural heritage protection and its influence on modern world.
The papers presented during Conference, in every session, may be given in various languages. If the paper will be presented in a language other than Polish or English, please send the abstract in English, which should be situated at the beginning of the paper. For participants of Conference from abroad we also anticipate the possibility of sending a recorded paper, which will be presented during the appropriate thematic session
Date: 15 May 2020, beginning at 9.00 a.m.
Place: City Hall, Cracow, All Saints Square 3-4 (Plac Wszystkich Świętych 3-4);
Social event: a tour to the Kościuszko Mound and gala dinner – Kościuszko Mound in Cracow
The conference fee, which includes active participation in the Conference, materials, lunch, tour and gala dinner, is in amount of:
100 PLN for Polish and foreign students (TBSP UJ Association members excluded);
250 PLN for PhD candidates and academics;
500 PLN for participants, who will send a paper in the form of a recording (only for participants from abroad);
350 PLN for other participants.
The gala dinner will take place on the Kościuszko Mound (transport will be provided), which will be preceded by a visit to the Kościuszko Mound.
We wait for applications of active participation in the conference until 31 March 2020. The application form must contain of an abstract of the proposed paper (max. 500 words) in Polish or English language. 31 March 2020 – end of submission of applications;
22 April 2020 – notification of abstract acceptance;
27 April 2020 – deadline for conference fee payment;
30 April 2020 – announcement of the conference program;
15 May 2020 – Conference Day.
The status of the Conference (national/international) will be clarified after completing the applications and published in the conference program.
We hereby inform, that the Organizers reserve the right to choose the most valuable abstracts.
We plan to publish a reviewed monograph summarizing the conference discussion in one of the publishing houses, which are on the list of publications publishing peer-reviewed scientific monographs, announced by the Minister of Science and Higher Education of Poland. Planned date of release: autumn 2020.
